90_SR0010 LRB9001120KBkb 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were saddened to learn 3 of the death of Eldon Otto Armour of Carlinville on Saturday, 4 January 4, 1997; and 5 WHEREAS, Mr. Armour was born in Honey Point Township on 6 December 9, 1916, the son of Otto "Tot" and Lydia Anna 7 Perrottet Armour; he was united in holy matrimony with Verda 8 F. Fullington, and to this union were born three children; 9 and 10 WHEREAS, After Mr. Armour retired from farming, he went 11 on to work for Smith Equipment, MJM Electric as a night 12 dispatcher, and the Carlinville Street Department, where he 13 retired in 1981; and 14 WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. Armour was a member of 15 the Carlinville Elks Lodge, a lifelong member of the Rural 16 United Methodist Church, as well as one of the first board 17 members of the Macoupin Service Company; and 18 WHEREAS, In 1982, Mr. Armour was elected to the Macoupin 19 County Board where he served until his death; and 20 WHEREAS, Eldon Otto Armour will be sorely missed by his 21 loving wife, Verda; his daughter Judy; his sons John and 22 Dennis; his brothers Gordon, Arlin, and Wendell; his sister 23 Ruby; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; 24 therefore, be it 25 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY 26 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sadness the death 27 of Eldon Otto Armour and extend our sympathies to his family 28 and friends; and be it further 29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 30 presented to the family of Eldon Otto Armour.
