90_SR0064 LRB9005655KBkb 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 express their condolences to the family of Mrs. Ida Lee 4 Williams of East St. Louis, Illinois; and 5 WHEREAS, Ida Lee Williams was born in Panola County, 6 Mississippi on February 27, 1918; she was the oldest daughter 7 of Mr. and Mrs. Lonzo Williams; and 8 WHEREAS, Ida Lee Williams accepted Jesus Christ as her 9 Saviour at an early age and was baptized by Reverend Arthur 10 Morgan of the Springhill Baptist Church; after moving to the 11 Goose Hill area of East St. Louis, Illinois, Ida united with 12 the Saint Mark Baptist Church, under the leadership of 13 Reverend James Wings; she was a devoted member of the church 14 and the Senior Choir; and 15 WHEREAS, Ida Lee Williams was married on October 11, 1936 16 to Mr. Thomas Wells Collier; and 17 WHEREAS, Ida Lee Williams is remembered as hardworking 18 and independent; she took great pride in her home, family, 19 children, and appearance; she was known to always greet 20 people with a smile; she will be remembered by all her knew 21 her for her outgoing personality; and 22 WHEREAS, Ida Lee Williams is survived by her two sons, 23 Lonzo T. Collier and his wife Ruby, and Charles Jones; her 24 daughter Evene H. Pratcher and her husband W.C.O.; her sister 25 Larnie Mae Riley; her two brothers Henry Jones and Russell 26 Soggs; her thirteen grandchildren; her fourteen great 27 grandchildren; her two great great grandchildren; her two 28 aunts, Mrs. Callie Shelton and Mrs. Cherry Morgan; her five 29 nieces Yvonne, U'Essie, Josephine Riley, Norma Jenkins, and 30 Denise Coleman; her two nephews Stanford and Stanley Riley; 31 her life-long friend Mrs. Mabel Rease; as well as several -2- LRB9005655KBkb 1 cousins, other relatives, and many friends; therefore, be it 2 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY 3 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her 4 family and friends, the death of Mrs. Ida Lee Williams of 5 East St. Louis, Illinois; and be it further 6 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 7 presented to the family of Mrs. Ida Lee Williams.
