1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, Southern Illinois has lost a valued member of
3 the community with the death of Francis Touchette of
4 Centreville Township, Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, Francis Touchette was the retired township
6 supervisor for Centreville Township, a position he held for
7 55 years; Mr. Touchette was the founder of Touchette Regional
8 Hospital, Southern Illinois Health Care Foundation, East Side
9 Health District, and Francis Touchette Charitable Foundation;
10 and
11 WHEREAS, Francis Touchette was a member of Immaculate
12 Conception Catholic Church in Centreville; he was a member of
13 Knights of Columbus Council 4596 of Cahokia, Moose Lodge 423
14 of Cahokia, the Illinois Sheriff Association, the Illinois
15 Association of County Board Members, Bi-State Development
16 Commission Agency, a fifty-year member and three time
17 chairman of the St. Clair County Board, and past chairman of
18 St. Clair County Democratic Central Committee; and
19 WHEREAS, Francis Touchette is survived by his three
20 sisters, Josephine Tojo, Marie Edith Eilering, and Virginia
21 "Gin" Tognarelli; his brothers-in-law Leo "Pete" Tognarelli
22 and Edgar "Bud" Howell; his sisters-in-law Clara and Rose
23 Touchette, and Betty Yovondich; his many nieces, nephews,
24 great and great-great nieces and nephews, and many cousins;
25 therefore, be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY
27 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of Francis
28 Touchette, and send our sincerest condolences to his family
29 and friends; and be it further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
31 presented to the family of Francis Touchette.
