1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3 to learn of the death of Sean Laura of Chicago, Illinois; and
4 WHEREAS, Sean Laura was born May 28, 1972; he was the son
5 of Andrew and Patricia Ann Laura; Sean attended Ralph Bunche
6 and Warren Palm Elementary Schools and graduated from
7 Thornwood High School; Sean received his athletic letter in
8 football and participated in weight lifting while attending
9 Thornwood High School; Sean was currently enrolled in South
10 Suburban College, where he was majoring in Law Enforcement;
11 and
12 WHEREAS, In 1995 Sean Laura graduated from the Chicago
13 Police Academy; upon his graduation, Sean became a Police
14 Officer with the Markham Police Department; his eventual goal
15 was to become an agent with the Federal Bureau of
16 Investigation; and
17 WHEREAS, Sean Laura is remembered for being a person who
18 cared for others; he passed away on September 20, 1997; he is
19 survived by his parents; his grandmothers Ollie "Granny"
20 Daniel and Edna "Ga-Ga" Laura; his grandfather, President
21 Laura; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many
22 friends; therefore, be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY
24 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his
25 family and friends, the death of Police Officer Sean Laura;
26 and be it further
27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
28 presented to the family of Sean Laura, along with our deepest
29 sympathy.
