90_SR0113 LRB9007477KBkb 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 extend their sympathies to the family of Lucious Rudolph 4 Teer, Sr., of East St. Louis, Illinois; and 5 WHEREAS, Lucious Teer, Sr. was born in East St. Louis, 6 Illinois on August 24, 1924; his parents were William Teer 7 and Minnie Riddle Teer; Lucious Teer attended the public 8 schools in East St. Louis, St. Louis University, and State 9 Community College; Lucious later graduated from St. Louis 10 University Metropolitan College; and 11 WHEREAS, Lucious Teer was a member of the Mt. Olive 12 Baptist Church; later he joined with the Truelight Baptist 13 Church, where he remained a faithful member under the 14 Reverend Henry Nicholson; he married Helen M. Faulkner in 15 1947; Helen passed away in November of 1982; Lucious married 16 Ira Beatrice Nicholson on July 2, 1994; and 17 WHEREAS, Lucious Teer was employed with the United States 18 Postal Service and served for twenty-three years with the 19 East St. Louis Fire Department, where he retired with the 20 rank of Assistant Chief; he was later employed by the East 21 St. Louis Office of Civil Defense; Lucious was a member of 22 the Southern Cross Lodge #112, Tyree Consistory #64, Veterans 23 of Foreign Wars-Post #3480, the Illinois Association of 24 Retired Fire Fighters, and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc; 25 and 26 WHEREAS, Lucious Rudolph Teer, Sr. is survived by his 27 loving wife, Ira Beatrice; his children, Lucious, Jr., and 28 Stephanie Teer Armstead; his son-in-law Reverend John L. 29 Armstead, Jr.; his two brothers, Marvin Teer and wife Vivian, 30 and Rufus Teer; his sister Vivian Galloway and her husband 31 Duncan; his two step children, Marsha Johnson and her husband 32 Kenneth, and Mrs. Regina A. Luster; his three grandchildren, -2- LRB9007477KBkb 1 Jared R. Teer, John L. Armstead, III, and Justin M. Johnson; 2 his three nephews; his five nieces; many other relatives and 3 friends; therefore, be it 4 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY 5 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his 6 family and friends, the death of Lucious Rudolph Teer, Sr.; 7 and be it further 8 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 9 presented to the family of Lucious Rudolph Teer, Sr., along 10 with our condolences.
