90_SR0120 LRB9006069KBkb 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 extend their sympathy to the family of Gerald Rodney Cruthis 4 of Litchfield, Illinois; and 5 WHEREAS, Gerald Rodney "Rod" Cruthis was born on August 6 18, 1946 in Litchfield, Illinois; his parents were Gerald and 7 Edith Cruthis; on December 29, 1969 he married Evelyn Sievers 8 in Valdosta, Georgia; and 9 WHEREAS, Rodney Cruthis was a graduate of Mt. Olive High 10 School; Mr. Cruthis served in the Army during the Vietnam War 11 from 1965 to 1967; and 12 WHEREAS, Rodney Cruthis and his wife operated the Wabash 13 Depot in Litchfield; before sharing a family business, he had 14 worked as a United Parcel Service driver for over seventeen 15 years; and 16 WHEREAS, Rodney Cruthis was a member of Zion Lutheran 17 Church in Litchfield; the Kessinger American Legion Post 713 18 of Sorento, Illinois; and served as shop steward for Teamster 19 Local 710 of Chicago; and 20 WHEREAS, Rodney Cruthis is survived by his loving wife 21 Evelyn; his twin sons Jerald and Joseph; his daughter Jody; 22 his stepson John Goldacker and his wife Jill; his mother 23 Edith; his brother Charles and his wife Linda; his five 24 sisters: Mary Jo and her husband Richard, Nancy and her 25 husband Thomas, Ann, Jan and her husband Robert, and Melba 26 and her husband Jerry; and his two grandchildren, Brendan and 27 Baylee Goldacker; therefore, be it 28 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY 29 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his 30 family and friends, the loss of Gerald Rodney "Rod" Cruthis; 31 and be it further -2- LRB9006069KBkb 1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 2 presented to the family of Gerald Rodney Cruthis along with 3 our condolences.
