90_SR0122 LRB9007423KBkb 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 extend their sincere condolences to the family of Daniel 4 Louis Burkhalter, Jr. of Normal, Illinois; and 5 WHEREAS, Daniel Burkhalter, Jr. was born on November 26, 6 1937 in Kankakee, Illinois; his parents were Daniel L. and 7 Fern Allhands Burkhalter Sr.; he was a graduate of Kankakee 8 High School and attended the University of Georgia; on June 9 29, 1957, in Kankakee, Illinois, he married Marcia 10 Brouillette; and 11 WHEREAS, Early in his life, Daniel Burkhalter, Jr. 12 managed movie theaters in Kankakee and Woodstock, and worked 13 as a savings and loan banker in Kankakee and Iroquois County; 14 he was last employed as an agent for the Federal Deposit 15 Insurance Corporation; Mr. Burkhalter was a member of the 16 First United Methodist Church of Normal, served on the 17 Watseka School Board, the Donovan Park Board in Watseka, was 18 a past president of the Watseka Lions Club and the Watseka 19 Band Boosters Club, was active in the Watseka Boy Scouts, 20 served on the United Methodist Church boards, was a former 21 member of the Kankakee Junior Chamber of Commerce, and served 22 on the Landmark Condo Association Board in Normal; and 23 WHEREAS, Daniel Burkhalter, Jr. is survived by his loving 24 wife Marcia; his daughter, Deanna E. Drasgow; two sons, 25 Daniel L. Burkhalter III and Timothy E. Burkhalter; his 26 sister, Cora Marth; his two brothers, Dale Burkhalter and 27 Darrell Burkhalter; his grandchildren, James Daniel 28 Burkhalter, Kourtney Joan Burkhalter, Molly Corrigan 29 Burkhalter, Brighid Corrigan Burkhalter, and Paul Vincent 30 Drasgow; and his step-grandchildren, Sarah Drasgow, Emma 31 Drasgow, and Josh Drasgow; therefore, be it 32 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY -2- LRB9007423KBkb 1 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his 2 family and friends, the death of Daniel L. Burkhalter, Jr.; 3 and be it further 4 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 5 presented to the family of Daniel Louis Burkhalter, Jr.
