 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION
 2        WHEREAS, The Illinois Senate wishes to send their sincere
 3    condolences to the family of State Trooper Anthony  Millison,
 4    who passed away on Monday, October 27, 1997; and
 5        WHEREAS,  Anthony  Millison was born in Chicago, Illinois
 6    on July 17, 1953, to  Lewis  and  Ruth  Millison;  he  was  a
 7    graduate  of  Calumet  High  School  and earned his Bachelors
 8    Degree in criminal justice from the  University  of  Illinois
 9    circle campus in Chicago; and
10        WHEREAS, Anthony Millison served in the United States Air
11    Force, and was honorably discharged in 1975; and
12        WHEREAS,   Anthony   Millison   was   employed   by   the
13    Metropolitan  Correctional  Center  from  1979  to  1987;  in
14    September of 1987, he joined the Illinois State Police; and
15        WHEREAS,  Anthony  Millison  will  be  remembered for his
16    dedication to the State Police; Anthony Millison was  a  hard
17    working  State  trooper, who liked working with the people he
18    served; he was a district representative  for  the  Fraternal
19    Order  of  Police,  as  well  as  served as their Scholarship
20    Chairman; he was an active member of the Association of Black
21    Law Enforcement Officers; Anthony Millison was a  trainer  of
22    younger   troopers,   and   was  a  member  of  The  Illinois
23    Association of Minorities in Government; and
24        WHEREAS, Anthony Millison is survived by his loving  wife
25    Shirle  and  his  son  Marcus; his mother, Ruth Millison; his
26    mother-in-law, Mary Richardson; his three sisters, Carole and
27    her husband Larnell, Brenda and her husband John,  and  Jane;
28    his  brothers,  Robert  and  wife  Beverly,  and Gregory; his
29    stepbrother Edward;  his  brothers-in-law,  Edward  and  wife
30    Maxine,  Elton,  and  Landers; his aunt, Mary Lewis; and many
31    nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends; he is  also

 1    fondly remembered by his fellow troopers; therefore, be it
 2        RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY
 3    OF  THE  STATE  OF ILLINOIS, that we send our sympathy to the
 4    family  and  friends  of  Anthony  Millison,  who   will   be
 5    remembered  as  a  dedicated  and  hard  working  part of the
 6    Illinois State Police; and be it further
 7        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
 8    presented  to  the  family  of  Anthony  Millison  of Dolton,
 9    Illinois.
