90_SR0155 LRB9011351KDcd 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The recent rescinding of the reciprocal tax 3 agreement between Illinois and Indiana has created much 4 confusion among the taxpayers of this State; and 5 WHEREAS, Some taxpayers of this State will pay more taxes 6 due to the rescinding of this reciprocal agreement; and 7 WHEREAS, Reciprocal agreements are important to Illinois 8 taxpayers and to the Illinois Department of Revenue, which is 9 constantly striving to achieve simpler tax administration; 10 therefore, be it 11 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY 12 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that the Illinois Department of 13 Revenue conduct a study to determine (i) the conditions that 14 led to the reciprocal agreement with Indiana being rescinded, 15 (ii) the effects of rescinding the agreement, and (iii) what 16 can be done to reinstate a reciprocal agreement with Indiana 17 as soon as possible; and be it further 18 RESOLVED, That the Illinois Department of Revenue report 19 its findings to the Governor and the General Assembly no 20 later than April 1, 1998; and be it further 21 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 22 delivered to the Governor and the Director of Revenue.
