1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate are saddened to learn
3 of the death of Ada Maurice Spence of Decatur on Thursday,
4 Februrary 5, 1998; and
5 WHEREAS, She was born in Corinth, Mississippi, on May 25,
6 1930, the daughter of Tillman and Mary Lusk; and
7 WHEREAS, She was married to Sylvester Spence, Sr.; he
8 preceded her in death in 1992; and
9 WHEREAS, She was a member of the North Jasper Street
10 Church of Christ and a former teacher's aid at Oakland Grade
11 School; and
12 WHEREAS, Her passing will be deeply felt by her family
13 and friends, especially her sons, Terry, Carl, Harold, and
14 Sylvester Jr. and wife Liesel; her daughters, Sheila
15 Sangster, Carol Collins, Sharon Johnson, Catherine Scott,
16 Sylvia Rowe, and Marylynn Foster; her sons-in-law, Robert
17 Sangster, Dan Collins, Christopher Scott, and Tom Foster; her
18 brother and his wife, Aaron and Dovie Lusk; her sister, Ouida
19 McWilliams; 17 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren;
20 therefore, be it
21 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY
22 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we extend our sincere sympathy
23 to the family and friends of Mrs. Ada Maurice Spence; and be
24 it further
25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
26 presented to the family of Mrs. Ada Maurice Spence.
