90_SR0171 LRB9011812CBcb 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were saddened to learn 3 of the death of Evelyn Elliott Hulse of Waukegan on February 4 21, 1998; and 5 WHEREAS, She was born in Chicago on October 25, 1906, the 6 daughter of Gustaf and Hilma Johnson Elliott; and 7 WHEREAS, She was a graduate of Northwestern University 8 with a bachelor's degree in music; she was selected to be a 9 member of the Acapella Choir under Deal Ludkin at 10 Northwestern; she performed as a pianist in the Waukegan area 11 from 1931 until the late 1980s; and 12 WHEREAS, She was a member of the Waukegan Women's Club, 13 the American Legion Auxiliary, and former Choir Director for 14 the Trinity Lutheran Church; She had delivered Meals on 15 Wheels for many years and was a former school teacher in 16 Chicago and Waukegan; and 17 WHEREAS, Her passing will be deeply felt by her family 18 and friends, especially her husband, Judge Minard E. Hulse, 19 Sr.; her children, Margaret Swanson and Minard E. Hulse, Jr.; 20 her grandchildren, Kevin, Kristin, Kirk, Diane, and Scott; 21 and her great-grandchildren, Gretchen, Caitlin, Stephanie, 22 Alexandra, Zachary, and Pace; therefore, be it 23 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY 24 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sorrow and regret 25 the death of Evelyn Elliott Hulse and to extend our sincere 26 condolences to her family and friends; and be it further 27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 28 presented to Judge Minard E. Hulse, Sr.
