90_SR0198 LRB9012088CBcb 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate are saddened to learn 3 of the death of John Pete Riva of Kincaid on Wednesday, April 4 22, 1998; and 5 WHEREAS, He was born in Jerseyville on October 18, 1924, 6 the son of Pete and Cecilia Giacoletto Riva; he married 7 Wreatha K. Redfern on June 29, 1946; and 8 WHEREAS, Mr. Riva worked in the Payroll Department at 9 Allis Chalmers, was auditor for 13 years in the Accounting 10 Department of Michael Howlett, and next was supervisor of the 11 Accounting Department for the Secretary of State for 14 1/2 12 years, retiring June 30, 1985; and 13 WHEREAS, A World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. 14 Riva was a member of the United Methodist Church at Tovey, 15 Golden Eagle of Eagles Club at Taylorville, and the American 16 Legion of Kincaid; he served as Democratic Precinct #5 17 Committeeman for 40 years; and 18 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by his family 19 and friends, especially his wife, Wreatha; his sons, Rudy Sr. 20 and Wesley; his daughter, Vickie Henley; his daughter-in-law, 21 Marilyn; his son-in-law, Donald Henley II; his grandchildren, 22 Rudy Jr., Tony, Erin, Eric, Brent, and Jeremy Riva and Megan 23 and Sara Henley; therefore, be it 24 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY 25 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sorrow and regret 26 the death of John Pete Riva and extend our sincere 27 condolences to his family and friends; and be it further 28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 29 presented to Mrs. Wreatha Riva.
