90_SR0236 LRB9013005CBcb 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were saddened to learn 3 of the death of Donald H. Schielke of Batavia on Thursday, 4 August 20, 1998; and 5 WHEREAS, He was born in Batavia on January 10, 1919, the 6 son of Herman and Vera Schielke; he graduated from Batavia 7 High School in 1936 and worked upon completion of his 8 schooling in the family business, Kinne & Jeffery Store; and 9 WHEREAS, He served as a combat medic in the United States 10 Army; upon his discharge he returned to civilian life where 11 he commenced a 36 year career with All-Steel Equipment, 12 retiring in 1984; and 13 WHEREAS, He was united in marriage to Catherine V. Odee 14 on October 18, 1947 in Batavia; and 15 WHEREAS, He was affiliated with the Tri-City Chapter of 16 the Salvation Army, the Batavia Historical Society, the Boy's 17 Club, R.S.V.P., the Batavia VFW Post No. 1197, the Tuesday 18 Batavia Senility Club, and the nightly 9:30 p.m. McDonald's 19 Forum Committee; and 20 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by his family 21 and friends, especially his son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery 22 and Linda, and his health-care provider, Josef Krukowski; 23 therefore, be it 24 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY 25 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sorrow and regret 26 the death of Donald H. Schielke and extend our sincere 27 condolences to his family and friends; and be it further 28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 29 presented to Mayor Jeffery Schielke.
