90_SR0264 LRB9013561CBcb 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were saddened to learn 3 of the death of Mr. John Edward Suter of Decatur on Sunday, 4 November 1, 1998; and 5 WHEREAS, He was born in New Berlin on October 1, 1911, 6 the son of John M. and Mary J. Kennedy Suter; he worked for 7 the U.S. Postal Service, on the railroad, and in security at 8 the Northtown Bank; and 9 WHEREAS, He was a member and usher at St. Thomas Catholic 10 Church, a fourth degree Knights of Columbus Council 577, a 11 member of Golden K Kiwanis Club, a member of the Macon County 12 board of supervisors, and a member of Catholic Charities; and 13 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by his family 14 and friends, especially his wife, Dorothy; his son and 15 daughter-in-law, Jack and Jane Suter; his daughters and 16 sons-in-law, Sue and Don Mattingly and Mary Ann and John 17 Tilton; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his 18 half-brother, Carl Suter; his sister, Mary Zumwalt; and his 19 half-sisters, Helen Schram and Rita Barnes; therefore, be it 20 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY 21 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sorrow and regret 22 the death of John Edward Suter and extend our sincere 23 condolences to his family and friends; and be it further 24 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 25 presented to his widow, Dorothy Suter.
