1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body were saddened to learn
3 of the death of Mrs. Betty Smith of Herrick on Sunday,
4 October 11, 1998; and
5 WHEREAS, She was born on October 10, 1929 in Fayette
6 County, the daughter of Roy Edward and Opal Viola Wilson
7 Sarver; she married Lyle E. Smith on July 18, 1948, and he
8 died on May 13, 1994; and
9 WHEREAS, Mrs. Smith was a self-employed beautician; she
10 was a member of the Herrick American Legion Auxiliary Post,
11 Order of the Eastern Star, and Herrick Christian Church; and
12 WHEREAS, Her passing will be deeply felt by her family
13 and friends, especially her son and his wife, Marion and Iris
14 Smith; her daughter and her husband, Sharol and Dennis
15 Sarver; her brother and his wife, Clarence and Verla Sarver;
16 her sister and her husband, Joyce and Jim Nance; her
17 grandchildren, Jason Cole, Stephanie Alde, and Michelle Clow;
18 and her great-granddaughters, Shala, Zoe, and Tiffany Clow
19 and Alyson Alde; therefore, be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY
21 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sorrow and regret
22 the death Of Mrs. Betty Smith and extend our sincere
23 condolences to her family and friends; and be it further
24 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
25 presented to the family of Mrs. Betty Smith.
