1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were saddened to learn
3 of the death of Helen VanNattan Zarr of Springfield on
4 Monday, December 14, 1998; and
5 WHEREAS, She was born in Springfield on March 20, 1915,
6 the daughter of John and Bertha Rigg Pierce; she attended
7 Auburn High School and graduated from Illinois State
8 University; and
9 WHEREAS, She retired as a junior high school teacher for
10 District 186; she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in
11 Auburn and the Retired Teachers Association; and
12 WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by a daughter,
13 Kathleen VanNattan; and
14 WHEREAS, Her passing will be deeply felt by her family
15 and friends, especially her husband, George; her sisters,
16 Freta Spaulding, Claire Caswell, and Irene Gilbert; and
17 several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
18 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY
19 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sorrow and regret
20 the death of Helen VanNattan Zarr and extend our sincere
21 condolences to her family and friends; and be it further
22 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
23 presented to her husband, George Zarr.
