   720 ILCS 5/24-3.1         from Ch. 38, par. 24-3.1                          

        Amends the Criminal Code of 1961.  Provides that  the  possession      
   of  a projectile that is capable of penetrating body armor constitutes      
   unlawful possession of firearms or firearm ammunition.                      
          JUDICIAL NOTE                                                        
          It is impossible to determine what impact the bill will have on      
          the need to increase the number of judges in the State.              
          FISCAL NOTE (Dept. of Corrections)                                   
          There will be no fiscal impact on this Dept.                         
          CORRECTIONAL NOTE                                                    
          No change from DOC fiscal note.

   various offenses relating to metal piercing bullets. Redefines these        
   offenses to relate to armor piercing bullets. Defines armor piercing        
   bullets.
