Deletes reference to: 720 ILCS 5/4-1 Adds reference to: 720 ILCS 5/12-4 Deletes the title and everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Provides that committing a battery against a peace officer, a correctional institution employee, or fireman while in performance, to prevent the performance or in retaliation for the performance of his or her official duties that intentionally or knowingly causes great bodily harm or permanent disability or disfigurement is a Class 1 felony rather than a Class 3 felony. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 2. Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Reincorporates changes made by H-am 1.
