CURRIE-LYONS,EILEEN-ERWIN-MCKEON-FEIGENHOLTZ AND RONEN.

   725 ILCS 5/112A-14        from Ch. 38, par. 112A-14                         
   750 ILCS 60/214           from Ch. 40, par. 2312-14                         

        Amends the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963  and  the  Illinois      
   Domestic  Violence  Act  of  1986.   Provides that a respondent who is      
   subject to an order of protection shall be prohibited from  purchasing      
   or  possessing  a  firearm  while  the  order  is  in  effect (now the      
   respondent is prohibited  from  possessing  a  firearm  if  the  court      
   determines  that  the  respondent  has  threatened or is likely to use      
   firearms illegally against the petitioner).                                 
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                 
        Makes a structural change in Section requiring the court to order      
   that the respondent be prohibited from purchasing a firearm while  the      
   order of protection is in effect.
