House Sponsors: KENNER-DART-SCOTT. Short description: LIENS-SALE IN ERROR-DEMOLITION Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Property Tax Code and the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that when a municipality acquires abandoned property, the rights of a holder of a certificate of purchase are limited to a sale in error. Provides that a municipality shall not proceed with demolition of a residential building if any person with a legal or equitable interest in the property has sought a court hearing.
