Short description:
LIENS-SALE IN ERROR-DEMOLITION

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
Amends the Property Tax Code and the Illinois Municipal Code.
Provides that when a municipality acquires abandoned property, the
rights of a holder of a certificate of purchase are limited to a sale
in error. Provides that a municipality shall not proceed with
demolition of a residential building if any person with a legal or
equitable interest in the property has sought a court hearing.
          STATE MANDATES ACT FISCAL NOTE
In the opinion of DCCA, HB104 fails to create a State mandate.
          FISCAL NOTE (Dept. of Revenue)
HB 104 has no direct fiscal impact to the Dept. of Revenue.
          HOME RULE NOTE, H-AM 1
HB104, with H-am 1, does not preempt home rule powers.
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.
Deletes the provisions that only a person with a legal or
equitable interest in the property may object to the demolition of the
   property.
