Short description: MEDICAL VISIT & EDUC CONF ACT Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Creates the Medical Visit and Educational Conference Leave Act. Provides that a person who is employed in Illinois and is an eligible employee under the federal Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 is entitled to a total of 24 hours of leave during any 12-month period to attend school conferences to discuss the educational needs or progress of a minor child or to accompany a minor child to routine visits with a health care provider. Provides for enforcement of the Act and for investigation of complaints by the Director of Labor. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Deletes reference to: New Act Adds reference to: 820 ILCS 147/Act title 820 ILCS 147/1 820 ILCS 147/5 820 ILCS 147/10 820 ILCS 147/15 820 ILCS 147/30 Deletes everything. Amends the School Visitation Rights Act. Changes the short title to the School and Health Care Provider Visitation Rights Act. Requires an employer to grant an employee leave of up to 8 hours during a school year to accompany the employee's child to visits with a health care provider. Provides that no more than 4 of those hours may be taken in a single day. Provides that a health care provider shall give documentation of the visit to the employee and that the employee shall give the documentation to the employer. Makes other changes.
