House Sponsors: SCOTT-LANG. Short description: STREETGANG RACKETEERING Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Creates the Streetgang Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. Creates the offense of streetgang racketeering. Penalty is a Class 1 felony. Provides for the forfeiture of property from streetgang racketeering. Permits the court to levy a fine equal to the street value of any contraband seized. Provides for distribution of the proceeds of forfeited property to various governmental units. Amends the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963 to permit the granting of use immunity in a criminal proceeding to a street gang member who testifies against the gang. Permits the court to enter an order for the interception of a private oral communication to provide evidence of gang-related activity.
