House Sponsors: PHELPS. Senate Sponsors: BOWLES-REA Short description: HUM-SVC-RURAL PILOT PROJECTS Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Department of Human Services Act. Directs the Secretary of Human Services to establish within the Department of Human Services a rural human services networking program for the purpose of assisting human services providers in rural areas to develop pilot projects to address intense social problems through the creation of contracts or joint or cooperative agreements between those providers. Provides for grants to pilot project participants. Creates an advisory committee to assist the Secretary. Provides that the pilot project program is repealed 5 years after the effective date of this amendatory Act of 1997. STATE MANDATES FISCAL NOTE In the opinion of DCCA, HB1001 fails to create a State mandate under the State Mandates Act. FISCAL NOTE (Dpt. of Public Health) No fiscal implications to the Dept. of Public Health; however, there will be fiscal implications to the Dept. of Human Ser- vices.
