Senate Sponsors: HAWKINSON-SHADID-SYVERSON-RADOGNO-SMITH Short description: MEDICAID-TBI WAIVER REQUEST Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Medical Assistance Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that the Department of Public Aid shall apply for a waiver from the United States Health Care Financing Administration to allow payment for home and community-based services under this Article for traumatic brain injury (TBI) patients, using the "Home and Community Based Services TBI Prototype Waiver" request form. Effective immediately. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Provides that the Department shall submit the "Home and Community Based Services TBI Waiver" request by January 1, 1998, and that if a waiver request has not been submitted by January 1, 1998 the Department shall submit the TBI Prototype Waiver request. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 2. Provides that the Department shall submit a Home and Community Based Services TBI Waiver request by January 1, 1998, rather than the "Home and Community Based TBI Waiver" request.
