House Sponsors: STEPHENS-PHELPS-NOLAND AND HARTKE. Short description: DPA-MEDICAID-MANAGED CARE Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Medicaid Article of the Public Aid Code. In Sections concerning managed care and a system for integrated health care services, provides that participating physicians must be licensed under the Medical Practice Act (now, licensed to practice medicine in all its branches). In provision concerning contracts for professional peer-based quality assurance review of individual categories of services, deletes language requiring the Department of Public Aid to consult with the entity providing external peer-based quality assurance review for the integrated health care program. Effective immediately. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Provides that health care delivery systems shall include fee for service care managed by a primary care physician "licensed to practice medicine in all its branches" (instead of "licensed under the Medical Practice Act of 1987").
