Senate Sponsors: BERMAN-CULLERTON Short description: PROBATE-DESTROY OR ALTER WILL Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Probate Act of 1975 to provide that a person who wilfully alters or destroys a will or willfully secretes a will after the death of the testator shall be sentenced as in cases of theft of property classified as a Class 3 felony (instead of as in cases of theft of property exceeding $150 in value) by the law in effect at the date of the offense.
