Senate Sponsors: CRONIN Short description: PROBATE ACT-SUIT BY GUARDIAN Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Probate Act in the Article regarding minors and the Article regarding guardians for disabled adults. Provides that, without impairing the power of the court, if the guardian of the estate of a ward or minor and another person as next friend represent the ward or guardian in a legal action in which the attorney representing the guardian and next friend is paid on a contingent fee basis, the guardian of the estate shall not participate in or have any duty to review the prosecution of the action, its settlement, or the award of attorney's fees.
