House Sponsors: WOOD-SCHOENBERG. Short description: FIREARM OWNERS-REVOCATION Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Firearm Owners Identification Card Act. Provides that a person whose Firearm Owner's Identification Care is revoked by the Department of State Police shall return the revoked card to the Department or submit an affidavit to the Department that his or her card has been lost or destroyed. Provides that a knowing violation is a Class 4 felony. Provides that the Department may attempt to confiscate revoked cards of certain mentally ill persons. Effective immediately. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Deletes the substance of the bill. Provides that every person whose Firearm Owner's Identification Card is revoked by the Department of State Police shall return the revoked card in a form and manner as prescribed by the Department of State Police. Provides that the Department of State Police and any law enforcement officer shall have the authority to seize and confiscate a revoked Firearm Owner's Identification Card under guidelines and procedures established by the Department of State Police. Provides that a violation is a Class 4 felony.
