Short description: 
CRIM CD DOMESTC VIOLENCE-COSTS                                             

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Criminal  Code  of  1961  and  the  Illinois  Domestic      
   Violence  Act  of  1986.   Provides that the court shall authorize the      
   county to charge a defendant, who  is  ordered  to  perform  community      
   service  for assault or a violation of an order of protection, for the      
   costs of the community service based upon the person's ability to  pay      
   for  those  costs.   Also  requires  the  court  to  require  a person      
   convicted of or placed on supervision for violation  of  an  order  of      
   protection to perform community service if available.

          HB 2167 would have no fiscal or prison population impact.
