Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the  Criminal  Code  of  1961  and  the  Unified  Code  of      
   Corrections.  Provides that a person convicted of first degree murder,      
   if  the  death penalty is not imposed, shall be sentenced to a term of      
   natural life imprisonment (now the defendant may in some circumstances      
   be sentenced from 20 to 60 years imprisonment).
