INC TX-DEDUCT-FAMILY CARE                                                  

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Illinois Income Tax  Act.   Creates  a  deduction  for      
   individual taxpayers who care for a parent in the individual's home in      
   an  amount  equal  to  $1,000  per  taxable year for expenses spent on      
   caring for the parent if the parent has been diagnosed by a  physician      
   as  unable  to  live  alone.  Applicable to taxable years ending on or      
   after December  31,  1998.   Sunsets  the  deduction  after  5  years.      
   Effective immediately.
