PEN CD-ST EMP-EDUCATION LEAVE                                              

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the State Employee Article of the Illinois  Pension  Code.      
   Allows  an  employee  to  purchase service credit for up to 2 years of      
   educational leave under specified circumstances.  Requires payment  of      
   employee   and   employer   contributions  plus  interest.   Effective      
   immediately.                                                                
          PENSION NOTE                                                         
          Fiscal impact cannot be determined since the amount of service       
          credit that would be established is not known.
