Short description: 
CNTY CD-PUBLIC DEFENDER-BAIL                                               

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Counties Code.  Provides that a public defender  shall      
   not  be  involved in any manner in the posting of security for bail or      
   in any of the conditions of a bail bond. Effective immediately.             
        SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                
          Deletes reference to:                                                
          55 ILCS 5/3-4006                                                     
          Adds reference to:                                                   
          725 ILCS 5/110-13               from Ch. 38, par. 110-13             
        Deletes the title  and  everything  after  the  enacting  clause.      
   Amends  the  Code  of  Criminal  Procedure of 1963.  Provides that the      
   court shall not order attorneys or other officials authorized to admit      
   another to bail to supervise or monitor the conditions of bail bonds.       
        SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 2.                                                
        Limits prohibition on attorneys at law practicing in  this  State      
   and  officials  authorized  to  admit others to bail or to accept bail      
   from furnishing bail security or from monitoring or  supervising  bail      
   conditions  to  those  who  are  not parents or legal guardians of the      
   accused.  Also deletes prohibition on monitoring or  supervising  bail      
   conditions by officials authorized to admit others to bail.
