Senate Sponsors: SEVERNS. Short description: INC TX-STANDARD EXEMPTION-CPI Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Income Tax Act. Provides that the basic amount for individual taxpayers, the additional amount for individuals, and the amounts of the additional exemptions for taxpayers or taxpayer's spouses who are 65 years of age or older or are blind shall be subject to annual adjustments equal to the percentage of increase in the previous calendar year in the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers for all items published by the United States Department of Labor. Requires those amounts to be increased at the same percentage as an increase in the amount of the income tax. Exempts the increases in the exemptions from the sunset provisions in the Act.
