Short description: 
INC TX-DEDUCT-PRIVATE SCHOOL                                               

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Illinois Income Tax Act.  Provides that beginning with      
   taxable years beginning on or after January 1, 1998  and  ending  with      
   taxable  years  ending  on  or before December 30, 2003, an income tax      
   deduction  not  to  exceed  $100,000  is  available  to   individuals,      
   corporations,  and trusts and estates in an amount equal to the amount      
   contributed for educational purposes by the taxpayer to any public  or      
   private  elementary  or  secondary school in Illinois, as certified by      
   the recipient school.  Provides that the deduction shall be  available      
   for  foundations  established  under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal      
   Revenue Code to raise moneys for schools.
