Senate Sponsors: SMITH. Short description: DHS-CHILD CARE TRAINING Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the State Finance Act and the Public Aid Code. Directs the Department of Human Services to establish a Neighbor-to-Neighbor Child Care Training and Education Pilot Program to train and educate public aid recipients for jobs in child care or assist them in securing appropriate licenses or permits to operate a child care facility. Provides for grants to local community-based agencies to implement training and education programs. Creates the Child Care Training and Education Pilot Program Fund in connection with financing of the pilot program. Effective immediately.
