91_HB0411 LRB9102270DHpk 1 AN ACT to amend the Animal Control Act by changing 2 Section 8. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Animal Control Act is amended by changing 6 Section 8 as follows: 7 (510 ILCS 5/8) (from Ch. 8, par. 358) 8 Sec. 8. Every owner of a dog 4 months or more of age not 9 confined at all times to an enclosed area, shall cause the 10suchdog to be inoculated against rabies by a licensed 11 veterinarian at whateversuchintervalsasmay hereafter be 12 established by regulations pursuant to this Act. Evidence of 13suchrabies inoculation shall be entered on a certificate the 14 form of which shall be approved by the Board and which shall 15 be signed by the licensed veterinarian administering the 16 vaccine. The Board shall cause a rabies inoculation tag to be 17 issued, at a fee established by the Board for each dog 18 inoculated against rabies. 19 Rabies vaccine for use on animals shall be sold or 20 distributed only to and used only by licensed veterinarians. 21SuchRabies vaccine shall be licensed by the United States 22 Department of Agriculture and approved by the Department. 23 (Source: P.A. 78-1166.)
