Amend House Bill 536 by replacing 3 the title with the following: 4 "AN ACT to amend the Illinois Vehicle Code by changing 5 Section 16-102.5 and adding Section 11-1304.5."; and 6 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the 7 following: 8 "Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by 9 changing Section 16-102.5 and adding Section 11-1304.5 as 10 follows: 11 (625 ILCS 5/11-1304.5 new) 12 Sec. 11-1304.5. Parking of vehicle with expired 13 registration. No person may stop, park, or leave standing 14 upon a public street, highway, or roadway a vehicle upon 15 which is displayed an Illinois registration plate or plates 16 or registration sticker after the termination of the 17 registration period for which the registration plate or 18 plates or registration sticker was issued or after the 19 expiration date set under Section 3-414 or 3-414.1 of this 20 Code. -2- LRB9100915KSgcam01 1 (625 ILCS 5/16-102.5) 2 Sec. 16-102.5. Enforcement by municipality. 3 (a) If a municipality adopts an ordinance similar to 4 subsection (f) of Section 3-413 or Section 11-1304.5 of this 5 Code, any person that a municipality designates to enforce 6 ordinances regulating the standing or parking of vehicles 7 shall have the authority to enforce the provisions of 8 subsection (f) of Section 3-413 or Section 11-1304.5 of this 9 Code or the similar local ordinance. However, the authority 10 to enforce subsection (f) of Section 3-413 or Section 11 11-1304.5 of this Code or a similar local ordinance shall not 12 be given to an appointed volunteer or private or public 13 entity under contract to enforce person with disabilities 14 parking laws. 15 (b) To enforce the provisions of subsection (f) of 16 Section 3-413 or Section 11-1304.5 of this Code or a similar 17 local ordinance, a municipality shall impose a fine not 18 exceeding $25. 19 (Source: P.A. 90-513, eff. 8-22-97; 90-655, eff. 7-30-98.)".
