91_HB0720enr HB0720 Enrolled LRB9100549WHdv 1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Vehicle Code by adding 2 Section 11-601.5. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding 6 Section 11-601.5 as follows: 7 (625 ILCS 5/11-601.5 new) 8 Sec. 11-601.5. Driving 40 miles per hour or more in 9 excess of applicable limit. A person who drives a vehicle 10 upon any highway of this State at a speed that is 40 miles 11 per hour or more in excess of the applicable maximum speed 12 limit established under this Chapter or a local ordinance 13 commits a Class A misdemeanor.
