1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act by
2 changing Section 1-105.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Governmental Ethics Act is
6 amended by changing Section 1-105 as follows:
7 (5 ILCS 420/1-105) (from Ch. 127, par. 601-105)
8 Sec. 1-105. Economic opportunity. "Economic opportunity"
9 means any purchase, sale, lease, contract, option, or other
10 transaction or arrangement involving property or services
11 wherein a legislator may gain an economic benefit. The term
12 shall not include gifts.
