1 AN ACT to amend the Public Utilities Act by changing
2 Section 8-101.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by
6 changing Section 8-101 as follows:
7 (220 ILCS 5/8-101) (from Ch. 111 2/3, par. 8-101)
8 Sec. 8-101. Duties of utilities; nondiscrimination.
9 Every public utility shall furnish, provide and maintain such
10 service instrumentalities, equipment and facilities as shall
11 promote the safety, health, comfort and convenience of its
12 patrons, employees and public and as shall be in all respects
13 adequate, efficient, just and reasonable.
14 All rules and regulations made by a public utility
15 affecting or pertaining to its charges or service to the
16 public shall be just and reasonable.
17 Every public utility shall, upon reasonable notice,
18 furnish to all persons who may apply therefor and be
19 reasonably entitled thereto, suitable facilities and service,
20 without discrimination and without delay.
