91_HB0986eng HB0986 Engrossed LRB9103904JSpr 1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Insurance Code by changing 2 Section 155.22. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by 6 changing Section 155.22 as follows: 7 (215 ILCS 5/155.22) (from Ch. 73, par. 767.22) 8 Sec. 155.22. Refusal based on location prohibited. No 9 company authorized to transact in this State the kinds of 10 business described in Classes 2 and 3 of Section 4, and no 11 officer, director, agent, clerk, employee or broker of such 12 company shall upon proper application refuse to provide 13 insurance solely on the basis of the specific geographic 14 location of the risk sought to be insured unless such refusal 15 is for a business purpose which is not a mere pretext for 16 unfair discrimination. 17 (Source: P.A. 84-1431.)
