1 AN ACT to amend the Department of Public Health Act.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Department of Public Health Act is
5 amended by changing Section 3 as follows:
6 (20 ILCS 2305/3) (from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 22.01)
7 Sec. 3. Appropriations for distribution to
8 multiple-county and consolidated health departments. The
9 General Assembly shall from time to time make appropriations
10 to the Department of Public Health for distribution to
11 multiple-county and consolidated health departments. Such
12 appropriations shall be distributed to health departments for
13 municipality contributions to the Illinois Municipal
14 Retirement Fund. Distribution shall be made to those health
15 departments, which have no other funds available for payment
16 of municipality contributions, and have certified the amount
17 needed to each county in the health department and one or
18 more of the counties is at a county tax rate of 75¢ per $100
19 of equalized valuation for the year for which the
20 contributions are required. The amount distributed shall be
21 equal to the amount which the county or counties would have
22 been required to contribute to the health department for
23 municipality contributions of the health department if their
24 county tax rate was less than 75¢ per $100 equalized
25 valuation.
