91_HB1059 LRB9104155NTsb 1 AN ACT to amend the Higher Education Student Assistance 2 Act by changing Section 65.35. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Higher Education Student Assistance Act 6 is amended by changing Section 65.35 as follows: 7 (110 ILCS 947/65.35) 8 Sec. 65.35. Administrator internship grantsinternships. 9 Under the internship program established by the State Board 10 of Education to provide experience to women and minorities 11 interested in preparing for positions as school 12 administrators, the Commission may annually award internship 13 grants pursuant to appropriation for this purpose. 14 This Section is substantially the same as Section 30-4e 15 of the School Code, which Section is repealed by this 16 amendatory Act of 1993, and shall be construed as a 17 continuation of the administrator internship program 18 established under that prior law, and not as a new or 19 different administrator internship program. The State Board 20 of Education shall transfer to the Commission, as the 21 successor to the State Board of Education for all purposes of 22 administering and implementing the provisions of this 23 Section, all books, accounts, records, papers, documents, 24 contracts, agreements, and pending business in any way 25 relating to the administrator internship program continued 26 under this Section; and all internship grants at any time 27 made under that program by, and all applications for any such 28 internship grants at any time made to, the State Board of 29 Education shall be unaffected by the transfer to the 30 Commission of all responsibility for the administration and 31 implementation of the administrator internship program -2- LRB9104155NTsb 1 continued under this Section.
