1 AN ACT to amend the School Code by changing Section
2 34-11.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing
6 Section 34-11 as follows:
7 (105 ILCS 5/34-11) (from Ch. 122, par. 34-11)
8 Sec. 34-11. Duties of Attorney; assistants. The board by
9 a majority vote of its full membership shall appoint an
10 attorney who shall have charge and control, subject to the
11 approval of the board, of the law department and of all
12 litigation, legal questions and such other legal matters as
13 may be referred to the department by the board or by the
14 general superintendent of schools. Appointments, promotions
15 and discharge of assistant attorneys shall be made by a
16 majority of the board upon recommendation of the attorney or
17 by a majority vote of the full membership of the board. The
18 attorney shall hold this office for an indefinite term
19 subject to removal by a majority vote of the full membership
20 of the board.
