1 AN ACT to amend the Unemployment Insurance Act by
2 changing Section 1701.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Unemployment Insurance Act is amended by
6 changing Section 1701 as follows:
7 (820 ILCS 405/1701) (from Ch. 48, par. 611)
8 Sec. 1701. Rules and regulations.
9 General and special rules may be adopted, amended, or
10 rescinded by the Director only after public hearing or
11 opportunity to be heard thereon, of which proper notice has
12 been given. General rules are shall become effective ten days
13 after filing with the Secretary of State and publication in
14 one or more newspapers of general circulation in this State.
15 Special rules are shall become effective ten days after
16 notification to or mailing to the last known address of the
17 individuals or concerns affected thereby. Regulations may be
18 adopted, amended, or rescinded by the Director and shall
19 become effective ten days after filing with the Secretary of
20 State, and such filing shall be public notice of such
21 regulation, amendment thereto, or rescission thereof, as the
22 case may be.
