1 AN ACT to amend the School Code by adding Section 18-3.5.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section
5 18-3.5 as follows:
6 (105 ILCS 5/18-3.5 new)
7 Sec. 18-3.5. Administrative and clerical costs of
8 nonpublic schools. The State Board of Education shall
9 annually request an appropriation payable from the Common
10 School Fund to reimburse nonpublic schools for administrative
11 and clerical costs incurred by those schools in preparing,
12 maintaining, and filing reports, forms, and records and in
13 providing any administrative and clerical services that are
14 not an integral part of the teaching process as may be
15 required by State law or rule or by a school district. The
16 costs reimbursed under this Section include costs involved in
17 the preparation, filing, and maintenance of forms, reports,
18 and records and other clerical and administrative services
19 related to State recognition, pupil attendance, pupil health
20 and health testing, transportation of pupils, federally
21 funded education programs, pupil appraisal, pupil progress,
22 teacher certification, unemployment and workers'
23 compensation, and the transfer of pupils.
