91_HB1576 LRB9103200DHmg 1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Act on the Aging by changing 2 Section 2. 3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 4 represented in the General Assembly: 5 Section 5. The Illinois Act on the Aging is amended by 6 changing Section 2 as follows: 7 (20 ILCS 105/2) (from Ch. 23, par. 6102) 8 Sec. 2. Purposes of the Act. 9 The ability of the constantly increasing number of aged 10 in the State to maintain self-sufficiency and personal 11 well-being with the dignity to which their years of labor 12 entitle them and to realize their maximum potential as 13 creative and productive individuals are matters of profound 14 import and concern for all of the people of this State. 15 The purposes of this Act are to provide a comprehensive 16 and coordinated service system for the State's aging 17 population, giving high priority to those persons in greatest 18 need; to conduct studies and research into the needs and 19 problems of the aging; and to insure participation by the 20 aging in the planning and operation of all phases of the 21 system. 22 (Source: P.A. 78-242.)
