1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Pension Code by changing
2 Section 16-101.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by
6 changing Section 16-101 as follows:
7 (40 ILCS 5/16-101) (from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 16-101)
8 Sec. 16-101. Creation of system. Effective July 1,
9 1939, there is created the "Teachers' Retirement System of
10 the State of Illinois" for the purpose of providing
11 retirement annuities and other benefits for teachers,
12 annuitants and beneficiaries. All of its business shall be
13 transacted, its funds invested, and its assets held in that
14 such name.

16 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
17 becoming law.
