1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Municipal Code by changing
2 Section 5-1-1.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by
6 changing Section 5-1-1 as follows:
7 (65 ILCS 5/5-1-1) (from Ch. 24, par. 5-1-1)
8 Sec. 5-1-1. Powers conferred by Article 5; Article
9 title. All cities and villages with less than 500,000
10 inhabitants, which are treated as properly incorporated, or
11 which hereafter are incorporated under this Code, in addition
12 to all the rights, powers, and authority conferred upon them
13 elsewhere in this Code, shall have the rights, powers and
14 authority conferred in this Article 5, by proceeding as
15 provided in Section 5-1-4. For convenience this Article 5 is
16 designated "The Managerial Form of Municipal Government".
